Falling in Love with Jesus

The greatest love story ever told began when God breathed the breath of life into Adam.

The very creation of man was as a result of Gods desire for true love. God could have created man to love him unconditionally and worship him forever, but man would have been nothing more than a robot. Knowing that, God gave man an attribute called free will. Free will gave man the choice to love him or to reject him - without this choice true love cannot exist.

A king, like Solomon, had hundreds of wives, and still did not have love. As rich and powerful as he was, he was not have to buy or demand true love. Thus, he writes in the Song of Solomon of a relationship far greater than any other. This relationship had nothing to do with his wealth or power, it was unique in that for once he had found true love.

Our creation was because God desired such a relationship, but man broke that connection with God by choosing another desire. The fall of man in the garden of Eden, resulted in another fall that also took place in a garden! But this fall was not a result of a sin, but rather it came from a desire of love...

Mark 14:32-35. "Then they came to a place which was named Gethsemane; and He said to His disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” And He took Peter, James, and John with Him, and He began to be troubled and deeply distressed. Then He said to them, “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch. He went a little farther, and fell on the ground..." Jesus was already dying in the garden. The weight of the world was on his shoulders that was too great for any man to bear. He fell to the ground under the weight of our eternal destiny. This was the fall of love!

1 John 4:19 says, "We love him, because he first loved us."

Look into the eyes of Jesus and see his unconditional love! Feel the touch of his nailed scarred hands! Jesus is in love with you.
