A Daily Walk with God - The Key to Life

In these three places of the Psalms, God's child speaks of "sleeping the sleep of death" or being as those that "go down to the pit"....

"To You I will cry, O Lord my Rock: Do not be silent to me, Lest, if You are silent to me, I become like those who go down to the pit." Psalm 28:1

"Answer me speedily, O Lord; My spirit fails! Do not hide Your face from me,

Lest I be like those who go down into the pit." Psalm 143:7

"Consider and hear me, O Lord my God; Enlighten my eyes, Lest I sleep the sleep of death." Psalm 13:3

In these verses, we see the result of not walking with the Lord. To walk in communion with the Lord and avoid the conditions listed by the psalmist, we must be considered by Him, heard by Him, and seen by Him. The Lords true desire is to walk and commune with us. He lives in us as Christians and has given us His Holy Spirit as our friend, counselor, comforter, and guide. Our "All in all." He never departs from us. Yet, we build a wall between ourselves and the Lord so often that we do not hear Him or see Him! Every decision that we make that causes us to seperate ourselves from Him is the same as placing up another brick on our spiritual wall, until we are in darkness and cannot see Him any longer. By His spirit, we know what those bricks are; for He is the light so we can see the light.

In Psalm 143 David prays, " Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know in the way I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee." God promises us that if we seek Him, we will find Him. And when we walk with Him, He will always be close to us. He will never leave us, nor forsake us. We need only to seek Him, walk with Him, and love Him each day. Today, consider asking the Lord to renew your vision and your need to walk daily with His spirit. The cares of life should not seperate us from having communion with Him daily.

Then keep my soul, Lord Jesus,

Abiding still with Thee,

And when I wander teach me,

Soon back to Flee to Thee.
