Thoughts on Morning Communion

February 14, 2015

Revelation 3:20, " Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me."

There are so many blessings that come from having morning communion with The Lord.  When we love someone we enjoy being with them and fellowshipping with them. So it is with our Creator, who loves us and desires to have fellowship with us.  The Lord longs for us to spend time with Him before we do anything else in the morning so that He can have an opportunity to pour into us grace, strength, and wisdom, as well as all that we need so that we will be able to bear fruit for His Glory.  Imagine that for a moment. The Creator of Heaven wants to have communion with us! He wants to commune with us and impart to us His Life.

But life is busy and sometimes it seems that there is no time to give to The Lord. But if we are willing to minister to Him first before doing anything else, we will find that in His Presence our heart is changed, and we come to understand that we cannot live without that communion with Him! When Elisha asked the widow woman to make him a cake first, when she was preparing her last meal for herself and then planned to die, imagine how she felt at his request?  She could have said, "Sorry I am too busy!"  But instead she obeyed and made him a cake first, not knowing that the time she was spending to minister to Elisha was going to be the very key to save her life. So it is with our relationship with the Lord. If we will make Him a cake first by ministering to Him, giving Him the first part of our day, we will find that He has what we need for life.  And as you hear Him knock and hear His voice and open up your hearts door to Him, You will begin to experience that you cannot start your day without Him!

As you begin Bible Journaling, and praying, spending time communing with The Lord, remember that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.

Blessings,
